Here are some practical, sensory ideas for fun learning activities using a sand tray and pebbles. Use marker pens or stickers for your pebbles which you then bury in the sand. There are 3 ideas for games for phonics and 3 for number, that you can try out and adapt for your children. These activities are particularly good for SEN pupils too.

4 spinner games where children spin the spinner and find either or all the matching pictures, blends and words. Cut out the spinners and attach the arrow / hand with a split pin. Cut out all the pictures, blend and word cards. Laminate for multiple use. Differentiate depending on the child or the blends you are teaching. Alternatively keep the pages as they are to make boards for children to place counters on when they spin / find them.
