Genetics Superheroes
A superheroes themed genetics activity which allows students to practice working with Punnett squares. The activity comes with a set of superhero cards and their powers [traits] which students use to work out the phenotypes and genotypes of their potential offspring.
There are 8 superhero cards in the set. They can be printed in greyscale or colour. Save paper and time by laminating the cards and keeping them as class sets. How to play:
Have a student or group select a category, for example ‘biology’ and then an amount, for example ‘100’.
If the student or group gets the answer correct they receive 100 points. If they get it incorrect they lose 100 points.
Repeat until all the questions have been completed.
The winner is the student or group with the most points.
The value for each question which has been chosen will be highlighted on the master category grid so that students know which questions have already been asked.
