This maths resource relates to place value: tens and ones. Please note it is a hands on resource and the lesson plan should be used in conjunction with the presentations as there is a lesson starter presentation. It can be used for reviewing tens and ones or teaching it from scratch, so the detailed lesson plan is flexible. Some preparation is needed to carry out the activities such as collection of different coloured straws, elastic bands, suggested materials such as counters, unifix cubes; cut out the 1 digit number tiles for the worksheet or you can get children to select two numbers from a pile, write it down and then describe the place value - see 5. in the list below. This product contains: Lesson Starter PowerPoint Presentation - Counting in tens from 0 to 100 and back. Also included is the Hundred Square if you need to demonstrate counting in steps or groups of 10. Main Lesson PowerPoint Presentation (50 Slides) together with lesson plan Detailed Lesson Plan (Presentation slides are referred to)- Includes whole class and independent activities. Place Value Grids - tens/ones and tens/units - for practical activities Blank Place Value Grid Worksheet and Cut/paste activity sheets for making 2-digit numbers. Children choose a 1 -digit number from container 1 and another 1-digit number from container 2 to make a 2-digit number which they stick onto their worksheet and describe the number, e.g. 35 = 3 tens 5 ones; 30 + 5. Children are taken through step-by-step of what a 2-digit number stands for and why we need zero. Independent work is differentiated. Hope you enjoy this resource. You can use these worksheets as an extension to your lesson, as worksheets for early finishers or for group work. UPDATED WITH ANSWER SHEETS AND TEACHER NOTES MAY 2019 There are 7 Lesson Plans (with learning objectives) and Presentations. Worksheets and practical activities for whole group teaching. The pack consists of: -Sound and how sound travels including sound waves, vibrations, pitch, volume; -The sounds we can make with our voices and what happens; -How we hear; -How some animals hear; -How to get sound from different musical instruments and what happens; and -The type of listening devices we use to locate sound, stethoscopes, hearing aids etc. 19 audio sounds for listening activities (MP3 audio) Lesson 1: This is about how we use our voice and the different sounds we make. There is a diagram of how our voice works which includes vibration, pitch and how we need our teeth and tongue to produce sounds. Activity: students are given a very short text to add vocal sound effects to in their groups - narrator/reader reads the short text (print this off the Slide) and the other students decide on vocal sound effects to add. Lesson 2:- This is about musical instruments and how we produce sound from them (bang, hit, shake, pluck etc.) and group them into their categories (wind, stringed, percussion)- Grouping Activity sheets and Listening activity. Lesson 3 - This is more practical and students plan and design their musical instruments. They are given ideas on what to do, e.g. make a guitar from cereal boxes, the handle is made of kitchen towel tube, strings are various sizes of elastic bands etc. Lesson 4: This is about how we ear (also video youtube link - Children learn about the anatomy of the ear (outer ear, middle ear and inner ear) and how we receive and process sound. They also learn about why we get dizzy (semi-circular canals in our ear is filled with fluid). There are worksheet activities and Listening activities on PowerPoint Presentations. Lesson 5: This lesson is about different listening devices such as the stethoscope, ear trumpets that were used in the past and versions of it that are used to hear unborn babies. Students: make ear trumpets and pot telephones learning how sound travels to the ear via the string attached to the plastic cups. Students test different cups and length of strings. Lesson 6: This lesson is about how some animals move their ears to hear sounds and locate their prey. - Activities: Students work with a partner to complete their worksheets with missing words. This product relates to UK sterling money pounds and pence. Its aim is to encourage students to use different skills to find solutions to a two-step problem. Aimed at: Keystage 1/Lower Keystage 2. Ideal for revising adding up coins and to finding how much more money to pay for an item. The worksheets start off with small denominations and then it increases to 50p and £1. There are 60 differentiated worksheets. Worksheet 1 - up to 10p (11 pages) Worksheet 2 - up to 20p (11 pages) Worksheet 3 - up to 30p (12 pages) Worksheet 4 - up to 50p (12 pages) Worksheet 5 - up to £1.00 (14 pages) <strong>Description: </strong> The worksheet is divided into 3 columns. The first column contains the price of the item. The second column shows the coins the customer uses to pay for the item but unfortunately it is not enough. The problem is in two parts: - Add up the total amount of the coins and write it in the blank box. Find out how much the customer is short by, i.e. how much more he/she has to pay and then fill in the box. The space above the box in the third column is for the student to show their workings out. In this resource students read sentences with missing rhyming CVC words and choose the correct rhyming word to match the highlighted word in each sentence. They also complete words with missing beginning and ending sounds and blend to read CVC words. Set 1: Worksheets A to F - (24 sentences) There are 4 sentences on each page. Students read each sentence and then match the highlighted word with the correct rhyming word. Students choose one out of the three choices in the box. **Set 2: Worksheets 1 to 5 ** Students are to use their phonic knowledge to complete each word with a beginning and ending sound. Then they write the words out on the handwriting lines. **Set 3: Worksheets 1 to 5 ** These worksheets are for students who need practice in sounding out letters in CVC words. He/she sound out each letter pointing to the sound buttons beneath each letter. When they have blended the sound to make the word, he/she can then write the word out. This resource is a 1 hour lesson on The Good Samaritan parable. Aimed at: Keystage 1/Lower KS2. Content: - PowerPoint Presentation (23 Slides) - Contains the parable and whole class activities and Plenary. Children and listen and interact with the story - listening and speaking. Recap comprehension questions at the end of the parable in preparation for children to do independent work. - Lesson Plan (3 pages) with Learning Objectives and success criteria. The PowerPoint Slides are referred to in the lesson plan. There is a starter activity, main lesson and a plenary session. - Differentiated Worksheets Worksheet 1 and Worksheet 1a, 1b and 1c - these are cut and paste activities. The length of the paragraphs are different on each sheet. Children read the four strips of paragraphs that relate to the pictures. They cut out the paragraphs and glue under the correct pictures. Worksheet 2 - Sentence work (Early finishers) - There are 4 sentences. Each one is jumbled up. Children work out each sentence and punctuate with a full stop. ANSWERS PROVIDED. Worksheet 3 - Cut and paste sequencing picture activity (aimed at children that need some support) - Sort the three pictures in the correct sequence and then say or write what the pictures are. I have uploaded two sets of lower case letters a to z to be printed onto card paper and laminate. A lovely addition to your Alphabet/Phonic station. Aimed at EYFS/Year 1, EFL/ESL students Children practise moulding dough on top of the letters with dough/ plasticine. Children practise writing inside the letters with different colour drywipe pens. Print out as many times as you like - children can draw pictures beginning with the name of the letters. Opportunity to use as a teaching resource showing children how to form lower case letters.
