In this six lesson SOW students will learn about: Lesson one: In this lesson students learn, about Greek theatre and the play text Theseus and the Minotaur. Lesson two: In this lesson students learn to create and understand the contrast and tension between King Aegeus and King Minos in the play Theseus and the Minotaur. Lesson three: In this lesson students learn to develop and examine the play text Theseus and the Minotaur and apply physical theatre and mime techniques to show the journey of Theseus from Greece to Crete and to the centre of the labyrinth. Lesson four: In this lesson students learn to create the fight sequence between Theseus and the Minotaur on the island of Crete using mime, stage combat and marking the moment to show the significance of this event to the audience. Lesson five: In this lesson students learn to demonstrate the end of the story of Theseus and the Minotaur as he returns home victorious from killing the Minotaur on the island and Crete and freeing his fellow countrymen from the tyranny of King Minos. Lesson six: In this lesson students complete a summative assessment on four main moments from the story of Theseus and the Minotaur together with the necessary theatrical skills needed for that section.
